The challenge and our response
Sustainable peace requires justice, inclusion, reconciliation, and trust among communities. The Peacebuilding and Social Cohesion Programme supports peaceful coexistence by addressing the underlying causes of conflict while strengthening community resilience and social harmony.
ILA facilitates inclusive dialogue among communities, traditional authorities, youth groups, women, religious leaders, and government institutions to resolve disputes peacefully and prevent violent conflict. The programme promotes reconciliation, mediation, restorative justice, and transitional justice.
Special attention is given to communities affected by conflict, displacement, resource-based disputes, and intercommunal violence.
